Well, all righty now....in those hallowed words: "Get on with your smokeless life!"
on a side note, a lifelong friend of mine who's birthday is today has decided to go forward without smokes starting today also. He sounded very calm about the whole idea such that I wonder if he's aware how hard it is to quit -- as you are very much aware Karen!!
You know the path laid before you...keep walking it!

You have taken the biggest step - starting a quit. We are all here to support you and get you through the first tough weeks. Come here and post, read a lot of the older posts that offer all kinds of hints and tips. Practice deep breathing to ease you through the worst of the cravings, drink lots of water to help flush the toxins out of your system. You are on your way to a new non smoking life.

Thanks very much for all the support!! I got out my list of reasons to quit smoking/stay quit that I wrote about a week ago. There were 17 things and I could probably add to them!! Right now I am doing ok but I know that I will not be on the computer too much as that is a trigger for me, like other things. But I will still stop each day and keep you all posted on how I am doing and hopefully be able to support others who are quitting on their journey. Be good to yourselves and thank you all!!
I have been quit for 9 hours, 12 minutes and 18 seconds (0 days). I have saved $3.06 by not smoking 15 cigarettes. I have saved 1 hour and 15 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 9/9/2005 12:00 AM
Hugs and love,

Hi gang! I made it through my first day back at work smoke free. I kept busy and the cravings were few and far between. I noticed sometimes they were not cravings so much as they were old habits popping into my mind.
I also switched my routine this morning. I showered first and I normally bathe at night! So that was a nice way to start the day. I drank some orange juice first instead of coffee (although I did have coffee at work) and I spent less time on the computer.
I just finished dinner and normally I would go smoke down in the office here but I am feeling pretty good and not having the craving.
Just thought I would update you on how my day went. I hope you are all well and thank you for helping me and supporting me on my first days of quitting smoking. See you soon!!
I have been quit for 1 Day, 20 hours, 35 minutes and 37 seconds (1 days). I have saved $14.86 by not smoking 74 cigarettes. I have saved 6 hours and 10 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 9/8/2005 9:00 PM
Hugs and love,
Karen
