Hey Willpower, how'd the weekend go? I hope great. That patch is only an aid anyway, you're the one doing all the work. You should have about 21 days in. Three full weeks. Be proud. It does get easier, really. KTQ. Come her and rant before you even thnk of lighting up. You won't be sorry, I promise.

Hi, my name is Jessica, I'm 27 years old and have a 4 month old daughter. I quit smoking for a year and a half before I became pregnant, and about a month ago I stupidly picked it back up and am despirately trying to quit again, but having a really hard time of it. I'm really glad I found this board! Jess

Jess,
You keep trying. It's not easy but you can do it. You post here anytime and we are more than willing to offer you support whenever you need it. I chew LOTS of gum and snack on sunflower seeds and raisins, they help alot. Keep busy and don't allow yourself free time to focus on the urges to smoke. Keep us posted on your progress...it feels SOOOOO good to stop!

hmmmmm, we'll have to check that out Willpower. Is the roll call the only thing you can't post to? That seems strange, since you can reply to this thread. Don, Slim, anyone have any ideas? Are you on a PC or Mac? Are you using IE or Netscape if on a PC? I don't know if any of this makes any difference, but by asking questions I feel like I'm doing something, although I have no clue as to what I'll do with the info anyway, lol ;D. Someone here will fix it for you. Just hang on.

When I started the new Roll Call for the week I made the older roll call 'unsticky' and locked it to prevent additions to it. There shouldn't be anything that I know of blocking Willpower from posting to this weeks roll call.

Hello all, I'm a 35 year old mother of two small children that I want to be around for as long as possible. Quit for both pregnancies, but started back. I've been a smoker since I was 18, so almost half my life. I've tried one or two various times to quit in the past, but was never doing it for myself...until now. I am currently on my 47th hour smoke free. For me, that's incredible! I am using Nicoderm CQ, and also taking some herbal remedies I got while attending a hypnosis program (didn't work). The vitamins seem to really be taking the "edge" off. I'm not making promises, or pressuring myself, and that seems to help as well. I want to smoke soooooooooooo badly. I hope I can continue my success. I have a wonderful, supportive non-smoking husband, and a three year old son, and 1 year old daughter. I don't want to be a hypocrate when I start teaching them the truth about cigarettes and why they shouldn't smoke. I hope to communicate with you all regularly, and thank you for welcoming me. J

Hi,
Thank you for this wonderful message board.
My name is Blake and I am a 31 year old smoker for the past 14 years. I am on Wellbutrin<sp> and the patch.
This is probably the most difficult thing I have ever done.
My wife is also quitting and is having a very hard time.
I have been smoke free now for almost 1 day and I am going batty.
HELP!

Hi Blake and Congratualtions on making the tough decision to quit. Or better put...you have made a decision to NOT smoke today. You can make the same decision tomorrow. We all know how difficult the first week is, so don't hesitate to post often, ask any questions, and read all the good info we have here. There is more at this site as well: southbeachfriends.com/forums/viewforum.php?forum=33&1I just want to encourage you and your wife to keep the quit no matter what. It is so easy when it gets tough to say..I will just have one...and we as addicts can't have just one. For the next few days be a bit selfish, focus on why your quitting, do whatever it takes to not cheat. Sleeping can be your friend. Avoid known triggers and watch out for the strong calling from the beast as you go longer and longer into your quit. After one week you can say you made it thru HEll week. WE all made it thru and so can you!! DRink lots of water! _slim 1194 days of freedom under my belt

Thanks for your reply. We went out with a few friends tonight to a "going away" party and EVERYBODY was smoking. I knew it was not a wise choice. I then told my wife we needed to leave causes I wanted to smoke soooooo bad.
We left. I cried in th car on the way home. I am still crying because i want to smoke so bad. I want to so badly go get a cigarette from somewhere, but I know I can't.
God please give me the strength to get through til tomorrow.
~Blake
