I have lost 18 pounds in the past 3 weeks. Of those 18lbs 10 were gone in the first week. Let me explain.
I went to the doctor a few weeks ago just to get a physical. It had been 13 years since my last physical and my wife kept nagging. This is what started my quit of the beast.
Everything checked out ok except my cholestrol level of 281. The doctor put me on lipitor and told me keep my cholestrol level under the U.S. daliy limit of 300mg. That enspired me.
For the past 3 weeks I have kept my daily intake level under 100mg and usually under 50mg. Drinking lost of water and I am on high fiber diet. Dr. told me to eat lots of fruit and vegtables. Always start the day off with oatmeal and a glass of OJ. The rest I did on my own.
It is a MUST to eat 2 peices of fruit a day. It is a must to have vegtables with dinner. My wife and I have a cheap plastic steamer to use in the microwave and it works great!
Here is my daily routine.
Morning 8-9am eat bowl of oatmeal with raisins and brown sugar. I use alot of raisins because I love them so really it counts towards my daily 2.(sweet and tasty let me tell ya. I love it!)
Before lunch (10-11am) Eat a banana. Trust me you will be hungry because the oatmeal already started your metabolism.
Lunch. Today I have Smart dogs. Let me explain. ZERO cholestrol. They taste just like hot dogs. I used regular buns and ketchup and mustard. I also like cheese so I used a slice os smart cheese on each. I ate TWO of these!!! Unbelievable! I should have tried these years ago. Total cholestrol ZERO.
As I type this it is 2:17pm and I am munching on an apple.
Dinner tonight ismarinated chicken breast grilled with grilled squash and zuchinni <sp> along with a glass of NON-fat milk. A chicken breast has about 50mg cholestrol. I may even have some pasta with marinara souce as a side. Total cholestrol is 50mg for dinner.
Total cholestrol for the day is 50mg ALL from the chicken breast. I noticed that the things with low cholesterol also are low or have NO fat!! Wow what a concept, eh?
I will also walk around the block a few times tonight. My rule is to raise my heartbeat where I can feel it for 30 minutes.
One day on the weekends I will eat something I want to reward myself but I then excercise 1 hour instead of 30 minutes.
Rules are very simple.
No cheese. 1 slice of american cheese = 20mg chol.
No red meat. 1 steak can have 700-1200 mg cholestrol
2 fruits a day (banana, apples, pears) fruit has zero chol.
Medium serving vegtables at least once a day.
Lots of water. I drink 8-10 glasses a day
Read all packets of stuff before you eat them. I went to trader Joes and loaded up on soy prodcts. This stuff tastes just like beef! I liked the Boca burgers and the soy meatballs as well. They work great in meatball sandwiches with smart cheese and marinara sauce. ZERO cholestrol in that sandwich. Oh ya, I love beer and the doctor informed me there is ZERO cholestrol in beer so YIPPY!!!!! Beer is ok.
I am not a doctor but I can sure tell ya I feel better eating right. I am going for my next blood test to see where I am at on Dec 8 so I will know 5 days later. . Dr. is amazed at my progress so far.
