I see many people have read this post, but you're right, no posts!
Luckily for me, I have not gained anything since I quit, although I would like to be losing! I think what keeps me somewhat on track is that I count calories, so there is no going off the deep end without being very aware of it! I also exercise most everyday, I'm sure that helps too!
How about you? How's it going for you and what are you doing?

I don't exercise like I should, but do have to walk the dog daily. Plus I'm a restless person, so constantly moving about. I had started working out on son's Bowflex when i first quit, but he's been doing some work in that room andI can't get to it right now! I've tried to keep my weight down this time, keeping a close eye on the scale and so far haven't gained an ounce. Having 5 or 6 little snacky meals daily instead of 3 big ones seems to satisfy both the hunger and the hand-to-mouth cravings. I need to rummage up my handweights and put them by the computer....something to do while I'm waiting for dial-up!

It is kind of weird though that with working out and watching your food you've still gained. I've heard other people talking about retaining water when they quit smoking, but not sure how true it is. Could that be why your weight is up?

I think that a lot of us don't post here because it is very depressing. On the one hand, you are doing something great for yourself by quitting smoking, but on the other hand, you gain weight. I'm still fighting the "pudge", but at least I'm not smoking. Also, I think the older you are, the harder it is to lose. That's my excuse anyway, and I'm sticking to it. I am just practicing moderation and simple exercise. I just bought a new pilates machine with a rebounder. I'm working up to that -- slowly. I didn't gain overnight, and I'm not going to lose overnight.
