Unbelievable, the amount of the new cigarette tax.
Any new quitters here as a result of that? If there are, please don't be shy about posting anything you are curious about or want to complain about. That's what this board is all about.
I quit 10 years ago with the help of this board and I can tell you that it's difficult but not impossible and you feel so much better.
So feel free to post, we're here!

They just raised a carton of cigs here in Vancouver by $3.00. That would be ... let's see... $10.00 a pack x 10 is $100.00 so now it's $103.00 a carton. We must pay one of the highest amounts for cigs here. Amazing. Yet, when you are in the throes of the addiction, it means nothing. You will buy them and go without something else. Sad.

Reminds me of my 1st EX - - - it didn't matter that we had little or no food, there was always money enough to buy a bottle.
Hey everyone!! Hope your struggles are few and far between. Like Judyb said - - quitting is completely doable. Just hang on and take one day at a time.
SueZ - - I've been quit for over 9 years!!!!!!!!!!!!

Across the bridge in Superior, Wisconsin, where one of my coworkers buys her cigarettes it is $53.00 a carton now for Winston Lights. I am so glad I am not smoking. My husband started again last November but smokes ones that cost $3.89 a pack.
I quit just after they upped the price in Minnesota back in August of 2005. I smoked one more month and that was enough, plus I think I was finally ready. Gratefully smoke free and not spending my money and worse yet, polluting my lungs.
