I'm going to have to assume that something stressful put that thought in your head that a cigarette would make everything better. A rational view in hindsight would show you that a cigarette is only a diversion and fixes nothing. Ann is correct you know. Don't just collapse and give up on Quitting. I don't count my quittime as that's unneccessary math for me. And while I've had a (very) few cigars since my quit date, I don't think any less of myself. I just know I don't smoke cigarettes anymore and smoking itself is not part of my normal life. For many years you met life's challenges without the blanket of smoke. Count this if you must as another bump on the road, but continue to keep going forward.
