I've been walking when weather permits. That hasn't been a lot lately. Either it's been too hot and muggy or it's been raining. But, I have added those little extra walks like parking farther away at work and at the grocery store. Stuff like that. I have been doing pilates also. Boy do I feel like I've had a good work out when I'm done. The hardest part for me is getting started. I can always find excuses for other things that need to be done. But, once I bite the bullet and do it, I feel great afterward.

Well Dot. I'm more agressive than you are I guess. By Sept. 12th, I plan on losing at LEAST 10 lbs. I hope more. I haven't measured my body fat. Too scared. Yikes.

I discovered frozen grapes last summer, and love them. Doing Atkins, I have to watch how many I eat. But they're a great summer time treat. Dee, I have found them to get too hard like ice cubes. They are still a little soft in the middle.

Now Dee, you loved yourself enough to quit smoking. Please take care of your diabetes. We want to keep you around for a good long time.

I can help with low carb recipes, but I don't think that's what you're looking for. I'm sure I have low fat recipes from when hubby had his heart attack. They're just a standard part of my cooking for him now, so they don't seem like anything special. Lots of chicken. He won't eat fish, so lots of chicken, pork and some beef.

During my last quit, I managed to control my weight while taking Wellbutrin. After I stopped taking it, my weight ballooned. I've made feeble attempts to lose the weight, but I'd always go back to my bad ways.
I am doing Atkins now, and have started walking and doing Pilates. The first 2 weeks, I lost 6 pounds. I haven't been on the scale for a couple of weeks, so I'm not sure where I stand now. I refuse to let the scale control me, so I just get on it every once in a while. One thing I've noticed since starting Atkins is that I no longer have the water weight I used to. My ankles would always swell during the day due to water retention, but that has completely gone away. Bonus! I know Atkins is not right for everyone, but it seems to be working for me with no ill affects.
BTW, we can change the name of this forum if you'd like. I had to call it something to create it. So if anyone has any suggestions, let us know.
