Good morning Ann. Merry Christmas to everyone and all the best for the New Year. It's a tough time to quit or keep a quit but hang in there. It's worth it. Just get past one urge at a time. It will happen where one day, you are not even thinking of it except in deep gratitude that you are free of that monkey on your back. God bless you all.

Hi everyone! Happy holidays. I've been remiss in not checking in but you have all been in my thoughts. Still smokefree and ever so grateful for that. A couple of smokers in the office and their cough reminds me that there are no shortcuts or cheating with smoking. Even if you only smoke a couple during the day, your lungs know it. It also reminds me of how hard it is to quit and that I was given a great Grace when I lost that monkey on my back. The older one gets, the more you need to just break even! You don't need cigarettes draining your energy.
Well, happy holidays everyone. KTQ.

How is everyone doing? Come on in and tell us all about it.
Karen kudos to you for keeping your quit and losing weight! You are amazing.
I'm working on endurance now. Trying to toughen up a bit. This heat can make one lethargic. It's easy to blame it on aging. Don't. Keep your chins up everyone. Stay strong.

Rain!

It has indeed been a strange summer, actually the whole year! But we too have gotten rain. It's been like fall most of the spring then we finally got summer for a couple of weeks. Many are happy about it. Me, not so much. The Sun is not our friend anymore and we need to put on our hazmat outfits before going out which pretty much wrecks it for me and then my place has been like 85-90 degrees. It's been so hot that all the liquids like mouth wash, dish soap etc are actually warm! Don't ask about sleeping. It's not bad on weekends but week days are murder. It's the office attire that kills it for me. I swear the fashion industry hates women. It's either too revealing for the office or its for Golda Meir! Anyhow I'm nut complaining. It's nothing to what so many are going through.
Don, lilac trees are one of my favorites. Hang in there everyone. No one has heard from Jimpops? I fear...

Hi everyone. My sympathies to all suffering from this heat wave. We in Vancouver have finally got summer with fall-like weather (and not the nice kind) lingering all through our spring. My place gets the afternoon sun and has been like an oven last week. Yesterday it must have been 80-90 in here. I'm not exaggerating. It was so hot that my phone even heated up and went a bit wonky. I am ok with it as long as I don't have to go to work. It's dressing for the office that I find challenging. Anyhow, I'm not complaining! Thankfully I no longer smoke so I can breathe easier.
It is being considered here in BC whether to eliminate the two month summer break for the schools. It actually stems from the agricultural days when all hands were needed for the crops. I agree with it as two months does cause memory loss and momentum as well. It is on the table for debate.
Well, all is well with me and I have quitting smoking to thank for much of that. Stay cool gentlemen.

Hi all! Still smokefree and grateful about all the blessings that come with it: Clear head, calmness, clear skin, smell good, extra money, great concentration, more energy, pride in being on the right side ... so many blessings ... when you smoke you just cannot imagine the good things that come with quitting. No one tells you. Perhaps they weren't aware of it or they didn't know how to describe it. Who knows. Perhaps I wouldn't have believed it or been able to comprehend it. I hope those silent visitors to this site will believe it. Quit. It's doable. If I can do it, you can do it. This is your time. Do it. Don't be afraid to try because it didn't work the last time.

Sleep apnea. That is tough. My brother in law suffers from that as well. I hope you find some relief Don. I'll send you good wishes.

Hi everyone. We enjoyed a long weekend up here in Canada. Hope everyone had a good weekend and your week is going well. I am still very grateful for being free of cigarettes. There are a few co workers in my office who are back smoking, having tried to quit. It's a tough road.
Check in everyone and tell us how you're doing.

Happy May Day everyone! Just checking in. I believe May marks my quit anniversary and this makes it the sixth year. Can I get a Hell yeah? Or a right on or a pat on the back? Wow. Feels great.

Hello everyone! Lots to be grateful for, much due to all the blessings that have come as a result of not smoking anymore. I still have the odd moment when I feel like something's missing and I have to stop and think and I remember, oh yeah, I used to smoke. A woman in my office smokes and everytime she passes by me, she will cough...that creepy clearing flem from one's throat sound which comes from smoking. It's gross and I want to tell her that it is one of the first things that will go once she quits smoking but I don't...too personal... For those who are reading this and hoping to find a lifeline to quitting, it is doable and once you realize smoking kills and there is nothing to be done about it but to quit, you too will be astonished at how great it is and how you and life improves once you lose that killer weed. Give yourself a gift and quit smoking and start breathing and having real fun. Still no sign of Jimpops. I'm worried about the ol feller. Sending prayers out his way. Check in everyone and let us know how yall are doin. Peace and love.
