Hi everyone! So glad to see more members checking in. It was lonely through thie winter months.
Don, my condolences. We too have been saying good bye to dear family members of late. I for one am still getting the hang of life without father. I dare say it is the passing of a generation. Keep the faith. Stay in the sun. Get more exercise - walk with God.
By the way, has anyone heard from Jimpops lately? I hope he is doing ok. Wasn't he experiencing some health issues last time he checked in?
Well on a bright note, life without cigarettes is fantastic. That is one thing to be thankful for amongst a lot of other things. Take good care my good friends.
Congrats Judy on your new home! An acre sounds divine. Hope you like gardening! He he
Slim, I hope you're wearing sun screen out there on the golf course! Lucky you. We are still climbing out of winter here in Lotus land, having had snow as recently as last week. Sheesh.
Keep your chins up everyone. Until next week. Peace and love.

checking in a bit late. sorry but my thoughts have been with you all truly. well I have joined the modern era. I have a google phone but i now have a lap top and wifi! i have been downloading all my cds to my ipod. there are three apples in history - Adam and Eve's apple, Isaac Newton's apple and Steve Job's apple. If you take a picture of a crime on you iphone, does that make you an iwitness? he he
i was sooo busy toiday, actually all this week, almost no breaks. Your post Slim reminded me of the early days of my quit when it was unfathomable to envision working without a smoke break. i find my performance has improved almost a hundred percent. i have been transformed. i just cannot say enough about how wonderful it is to be free of cigarettes. i can always tell those who have recently quit who will lapse. they talk like it is a piece of cake and dont need any help...and then there they are outside in the lane again...so glad those days are behind me.
well, sorry for the absence. getting the computer thing set up. I'm glad to say I am up and running now. have a great smokefree weekend everyone.
p.s. it has been 6 years now since i closed the door on smoking. wow.

Hello everyone. I hope everyone checks in this week. It's been awfully lonely around here lately. It's a good sign in that it means we are doing great with our quits but a bad sign in that no one is here. Well, hopefully now that the Christmas season is behind us, more members will check in. At any rate, I hope everyone is doing well both in their lives and with their quits. I know I am still marvelling over my quit and enjoy every minute of it. Come in and give us your stats. It will be five years for me...or is it six?

Well its going on five years or so for me. I am reminded that before I quit, I could not imagine being free of cigarettes and that in the early stages of my quit, I would just hang on minute by minute, crave by crave. I am reminded that in the early stages of my quit, I had to fight not going crazy eating to stem the craves. Yet here I am. Little by little, crave by crave, I made it and have been transformed by the journey. Quitting gives you will power and stamina and those characteristics serve yiu well in life. And not smoking gives you breath, blessed breath and the calmness which comes from breathing. And great skin which comes from all the oxygen you are breathing. And energy and confidence and pride. And gratitude for bring given this new life. Keep the quit my friends.

Well aren't we waxing eloquent! Forgive me. Canadian. Our Thanksgiving is in October. Well I am thankful too. For my friends on this site. For sharing the wonder of being free of cigarettes. For having such a great neighbor. May we enjoy peace and friendship forever.

Hi everyone. I forgot to check in the last couple of weeks. Change of routine has thrown me off. Must remember to check in. I suppose it's a good thing in a way because I take being smokefree for granted. I have had a few moments but they are like wisps of smoke...disappearing into the air. I think that is because I am totally committed to being smokefree. I am so grateful I am free from cigarettes. Other than that, just carrying on. Working, living a good clean life. Enjoying watching the transition from summer to fall to winter. It's been a beautiful fall here though we had some stormy weather last week with snow/rain mix. Found a new hair stylist...

Good morning everyone! I'm starting this week's roll call early as the opportunity is here and I don't want to miss it. I'm so sorry to hear of Roger's passing away and my thoughts and prayers continue for Dorothy. I also send well wishes and prayers to Don and his daughter. I hope she mends well and soon. So many challenges come our way. We need a source of faith to draw from and we need to guard our quits. Smoking only adds to our troubles. Keep the faith and the quit.
Remember that we are friends here too and if you need to, post here.
