Happy May everyone!
Another day, another day smokeless.
Life's just too darned busy to smoke anyway.
Lately I'm feeling like the tennis ball in a four person tennis match. Unfortunately I don't see it letting up anytime soon.
Whenever summer finally gets around it would be nice to be able to enjoy it though.

I guess the big debate now is people "vaping". I wonder if we'll see Vape-Busters in the future? Websites dedicated to help people quit vaping I can see it happening. The Nico-Beast is going to get you one way or another. I'm just glad I got that demon off my shoulders!

I think many of us have moved on with our smokeless lives...a very good thing. But that leaves this place pretty quiet for any newly quit people to converse with.
(Maybe the roll call should be a monthly thread instead of a weekly.)
I'll continue to stop by and offer any advice to those who want it.
I have one friend who's already on week three. He's proud of that and I am of him. He's taken the patch off and thinks he's free, but I told him to keep a patch in his glove box or wallet just in case those craves show back up in force (which we know full well they will).
My new year resolution is weight loss after my latest blood numbers show loosing some pounds would be a health boost to meet a goal the doctor is trying to get me to reach.
When I saw the doc last week, the interviewing nurse asked if I smoked, a standard question on her form. It's always a good feeling to have to dig in my head and pull up that Quit Date. And then do a mental arithmetic to calculate just how many years it's been.
The year is off to a snowy beginning, but it's bright and I take that as a sign that this will be a bright year. I'm sure there will be ups and downs...but I'm hopeful that this will be a year I remember collectively as a good one.
I hope you smokeless folks Keep the Quit!

I must not be the only one supper busy...pretty quiet around here!
Life's been busy. The Mrs. is recouping from leg surgery. For me, the restructuring of the company is nearly complete and I finally have an assistant now so things are getting better. I can't believe it's almost a new year again...where did the year (and summer) go?? A blur. Good thing I don't smoke because I would've chain-smoked the whole summer with all of the stress
Instead, smokeless I remain.
Hope everyone is doing good! Check in from time to time if possible.

Hi Country and all!
Yeah Fall is here. Always brings a tinge of sadness knowing what's coming ahead.
Didn't really get to enjoy summer all that much...too much work.
Stress level up but no cigarette will fix that, a lesson learned long ago.
Seems the kids are growing up really fast now. The Boy is as tall as me now, looking like a young man. The Girl, always beautiful but she too is not the little girl anymore. I enjoy the conversations I have with both, much more intelligent...and much more drama.
And so time marches on, and I too ride along the breeze.
Stay smokeless everyone!

Stopping by as well.
Too stressed. Smoking doesn't help with stress but even after all these years there's that little thought that maybe now would be a good time to light up again. Not gonna happen of course.

Still kicking it here!
Work went crazy when we reorganized and dropped a quarter of the staff off the payroll. It's no longer a Chinese fire drill...it's more of a controlled burn now.
I don't know where the summer went, the last couple months have been a blur.

July! 6 months of the year have passed by. To think, if you had quit smoking Jan 1 you'd be halfway to the year mark.
I have a sister visiting in-laws in Arizona. 120 degrees F! It's a dry heat....like an oven. At least you don't have to shovel it aside.
last year we had a drought, this year we've had more than enough rain to keep the lawnmower very busy. I'm spending a lot time in the yard lately. Who needs smoking anyway??
Back to my busy smokeless life.
Cheers to all!

Checking in...as opposed to checking out!
Thought I'd stop in and ring the bell, toot a horn or make some peep.
Been way too quiet around these parts. That must mean that we're all living our (smokeless?) lives!
I've had no desire to smoke for a long time. The newest battles are aging and weight gain. Medications\slowing metabolism is making weight gain happen much faster than ever. So I went on a diet and exercise routine...lost 15+ pounds. Then got hurt doing all that exercise and gained 5 back.
Like the life change to quit smoking I'm hopeful I can change my life a bit to keep in shape and stay relatively healthy.
Another aging moment is seeing The Boy becoming a young man. He's taller than his mom, gaining up on me and even Driving MY Car now. The time flew!! On a plus side I did have a dream recently that put me back in time when he was a toddler...a pleasant trip down memory lane. I quit smoking when he was nearly two and the dream didn't throw any cigarettes into view.
I have to say this is my favorite time of year around my neck of the woods. Flowers blooming, warming temps...everything greening up. I could lie in my yard and listen to the chatter of the birds and get quickly chased away by the buzz of the bumper crop of mosquitoes. ;D
So how's things everyone? Keeping the Quit? or just keeping on?

Here amongst the smokeless!
Brought home a car yesterday for "The Boy" who will be driving this year. The car is old, needs a ton of work, but is his. It'll be a good learning experience for him, both on car repair and his driving of it.
Other than that, life's still busy.
Country, glad to hear things have improved in you + hubby's life!

The calendar keeps rolling along. And winter justs keeps holding on.
I noticed we have some tulips starting to poke up...and as I stare outside my window and watch snow flakes...come on Spring!!
I wouldn't mind walking off a few winter pounds if the seasons would cooperate.
But I'm still happy to be here, smokeless and all. Got some living to do!
Hope you all are doing well. Keep those Quits going!!

Time change, Spring forward! And looking forward to Spring I am.
We had a very quiet winter until Feb and March. Had to miss a day of work due to a strained back after the snowblower died giving its all.
Soon it'll be daffodils and tulips poking up through the ground.
How are all you quitters doing??
Cheers!

Good to see people are still around and keeping the Quit!!
Been hiding low on the Interwebs. Some time ago before the new year I became the target of identity theft. Had to change every password (personal and work), scan all computers, police report, credit freeze and monitor everything. They even got my phone to redirect a call for a credit application. Imagine the day when they can start hacking into pacemakers!
Well, still smokeless and still in debt. The Boy starts driving soon and 2013 is off to a roaring start. Don't know where 2013 is taking me but I'm in for the ride.

Looks like winter paid a visit to those in the northern lands. How's it going Karen?
I got only flurries out of that mess, but the snowblower is ready for the season even if I'm not.
2013 approaching fast time keeps ticking. Where'd the year go? Haven't even gone holiday shopping yet.
Working on new life insurance policy. The term one I have currently, I took out in 98 and I stopped smoking in 99. I'm qualified for the non smoker rate now after paying extra for all this time. More proff that quitting does have monetary benefits!
back to the desk I go...Have a great week everyone!

December...the year is almost over. To think if you'd quit on Jan 1 you'd almost be at that year mark.
Finally got that vacation in and went with the family to San Diego over the thanksgiving week. Took a ferry over to Catalina Island. About the closest I'll get to Hawaii. Good vacation, no complaints. Kids are getting big now and don't know if we can do this thing again. The last time we took a serious trip was in 2009. Wierd to see the whole San Diego zoo declared smokeless, no little pockets of huddled smokers.
Came home to reality. Got the snowblower ready for the season. Holiday decorations are up. And a bunch of work waiting for my return. Started taking cholesterol meds and switched to (gasp) non-alcoholic beer. I even took my cpap machine with me on vacation.
So it's all back to normal, whatever normal is.
Busy lives make for a quiet board. How are you all doing??

Monday Monday Monday.
Another start of the week. This week has a special day in that Nov 15th is the American Smokeout day, but I'm sure it could apply to the rest of the world as well.
Would you rather be dying for a smoke than dying from a smoke?
Well, I have no need for a cigarette, but god don't let them take my coffee away!
Winter is coming again and with it, so to will be the smokers, hudled against the cold as they drag away on that lit stick. No thank you.
I've gotten pretty used the the cpap machine and can say I've had an improvement in my quality of life. Like quitting, you got to stick to it to see the benefits for youself.
Ready to face the rest of the week and whatever ups and downs it brings.
Stay smokeless everyone!
