just remember smoking uses 200 calories a day,no matter how much or little you smoked,so you need to burn off 200 a day,in a heathy way not to gain anymore weight,or eat 2oo calories less, we usually will eat more than that when we quit thats why we gain,

it does take the same amount of determination,I have been slim since I was 25 now I am 48(gained when I had the children) and since I quit gained 7lbs,but I am so very careful of what I eat,and when your as short as I, it looks like more,I work in a gym,so I hear"talk" but I don't mind anymore,quitting is far more important,after much searching I found, smoking burns 200 calories a day(no matter how much we smoked),so we need to either eat 200 calories less or burn 200 calories more,when your thin thats alot,there is no way I could do either,I ate around 1200 as a smoker,so it will take abit longer to lose,I keep a food log now and try to keep it to 1000-1100 depending on what my work day is like.

I HAD been a heavy smoker since I was a teenager, but to my surprise was able to quit However, my weight shot up and I felt very self-conscious. When a friend congratulated me on giving up cigarettes, I exclaimed, "But look at all these added pounds!" Her reply was one I'll always treasure. "Oh, my dear, don't worry about that!" she said. "Just think of all the extra years you will have in which to lose them." ;D

it is depressing thats why we should post,I joined spark diets ,its a free online diet,they customize the food for you maybe it will help,looks like a nice site alot going on,still have to work out the kinks yet, I heard that too about retaining water,it maybe,I dont drink enough water thats for sure.

wow thats awesome you ladies didnt gain,I am watching watch I eat,workout,I am up 5 lbs:( and a little worried I will go up more,I just got a raise and more hours at my job,I dont need anyone, commenting about my weight,...I am a fitness trainer and expected to keep my own weight in check.

don't people post?I know we have to take care of our quits first,but after the first few weeks weight matters and quits go hand and hand for many, it would be nice to see tips,ideas etc,here
