I am sitting here wondering how all the recently quit or newbies are doing. I would love to hear from you and hear more of your stories. People is what this bb is all about and stories is what make it real! I will do this for oldbies to so you all can see where we came from and how we survived the battles.
Some have posted once or twice and I would love to hear from you as well...maybe we can still help if your still lurking around. Even if your smoking - at least we don't have to worry anymore. and we can focus on the future.
Post away!

Hello Slim, Today was a major milestone for me. ONE MONTH TODAY! I've been doing everything possible to stay busy! Without even weighing myself, I know I've gained a few pounds...it's worth it, so I'll put my vanity aside for a while...it's not permanent...if I can quit smoking, surely I can lose a few pounds, right! J 1 month, 9 hours, 1 minute, 33 seconds 627 not smoked $118.92 saved 2 days, 4 hours, 15 minutes

I am here and still smoke free (yahoooo!)
Jbabies, first of all, CONGRATS on one month! For me, it will be Tues.
Secondly, I have gained a few pounds too and I haven't been eating a lot more or anything. I haven't substituted candy or gum. Oh well, like you said, we can always lose the extra pounds.
Enjoy the weekend everyone... Elaine

One week, one day, 9 hours, 49 minutes and 24 seconds. 294 cigarettes not smoked, saving $44.15. Life saved: 1 day, 30 minutes.
Last night was pretty difficult for me. My wife felt the same and was having cravings. We both agreed we needed to make it through the night and we would talk about it tomorrow(Today). We are glad we made it to Saturday because now we don't have the cravings LOL
Have a great day!' Blake

Today marks 70 days, nine hours, 25 minutes for me. The cravings are still there, still as strong but are less frequent. I ran around a couple times over the weekend with an unlit cigarette in my mouth, somehow this made me feel better. Guess I must be doing better, few weeks ago could not have been able to do that without lighting it. Feels great to be smoke free.
I have not gained any weight but I did change my eating habits in the hopes of not gaining any weight. So far, so good.
Congrats to all the other "newbies" too. [glow=red,2,300]TEXT[/glow] We should all be proud of ourselves.

tcat,
I found this board .........Two weeks, four days, 18 hours, 52 minutes and 3 seconds. 657 cigarettes not smoked, saving $98.63. Life saved: 2 days, 6 hours, 45 minutes. ......and have been smoke free since.
Are you using the patch? Wellburtin? cold turkey?
I used the patch with wellbutrin and I am doing well. I found myself coming to this board many times daily for relief whenever I wanted a cig.
You can win as long as you don't smoke. I think often about how those big wigs at BIG TABACCO are making billions using nicotine, aka THE BEAST!! That helps me want to show them!
Use whatever method you find necessary because it sure is worth it.

Hi Slim, I posted in here yesterday "Feeling sorry for myself" But I received an e-mail with a new username and password. I can't seem to find my old post to read any replies or find a way to post a new message on the home page. It's probably just me as I'm not the most computer literate person around... Anyways, It's one month and three days for me and I'm happy to report I had a much better day than yesterday and a big thank-you to all who responded to my post. It really helped.
