Out of the Ashes, page 35
_________________ Motivation…<br> One of the real enemies of Motivation is “victim” mentality. If You see yourself as a victim-forced to stop smoking by people and circumstances-you will feel no motivation to stop. In fact, you will feel resistant, and try to sabotage the whole process.
A victim-someone who “has To” stop smoking-can not think About the pros and cons of stop- Ping smoking. They are too busy Resisting this coercion, and feeling angry and trapped.
Responsibility is the key to mo- tivation. “It`s my life. It`s my body. I can smoke or stop. Now what do I want to do?” This starting point makes motivation possible.

True, oh so true. You have to quit for you, not any other reason, or it won't stick. Thanks Ann.
