I guess it had to happen sooner or later. I'm VERY stressed out today and for the 1st time since my quit started I really wanted a cigarette! No, I haven't done it.
I'm trying to settle myself down. Unfortunately I have a couple people in my life who are real stressers -- let's call them dum and dummer. I can't put them out of my life and I'm trying to find a better way of dealing with the stress they cause. That's why I'm here. I thought maybe posting would help to settle me down. Been deep breathing, doing other things and that's helping a little. I'm about to lose myself in a picture I keep on my desk of a white sand beach in Hawaii. Maybe a little visualization will help!
What I really want to do is rant, rave, swear and throw things. Unfortunately there's no one to rant, rave or swear at. And if I start throwing things I'd have to clean up the mess! grrrrrrrrrrr

Hang in there girl. Promise that cig will make it worse. But coming here and writing this down helps I am sure, and you can vent here at any time. Can you walk around the block (I know its cold) but maybe take your mind off of things. Hang in there, You are my leader now Barby, I know you can do this. Big Hugs@!!!!!! Karyn

Thanks Karyn. I finally settled down. Another St. John's Wort helped. Plus I decided to return the stress to the stressers by being bi*chy to them and not doing something they DEMANDED I do immediately! How dare they demand?
Anyway, I'm better and haven't smoked. Thanks for the support.

Barby, I'm sorry you're having such a bad time. It usually does pass if you can get your mind on other things. When I first quit when I would dwell on not smoking things just got worse. If I turned my mind away from smoking and found something to occupy my mind, things got better and I was able to get through the bad time. Just hang in there. You are doing quite well. I liked that you came here to rant and rave. That kept your mind and hands busy. Good for you! You have almost got your first month in...Way to go! Hang in there. Dee

You are doing the right things Barb
better to come here and vent than smoke....usually by the time you get done reading and posting you feel better. Just keep saying to your self that no matter what, smoking is NOT an option!
I believe that it's ok to want to smoke just don't do it ;-)
Look but don't touch LOL
hey...that sounds familiar

Rant!
Go for broke. Every key stroke here is keeping your hands in a healty position.
THIS is the place to be when a crave hits...not running out and crawling to the cigarette depot.
You are doing great! Keep on venting.

A cigarette will not help you or change the antics of dumb and dumber. A cigarette is not your friend and will never really help you in any situation. How bad you will feel if you give in is nothing in comparison to how you feel now. I know you're just venting and kudos to you for using truly effective ways of combating stress. If you start smoking you'll have dumb, dumber and the dumbest(nicodemon) to contend with-quit while you're ahead

Thanks for the support everyone. I got past that emergency. Spent my time planning ways of giving them back some of the stress they give me. Revenge is sweet! But it's almost a waste since they're too dumb to realize what I'm doing! ;D But I'm doing it anyway! At least it gives me satisfaction.
