O.K. This is going to be a weird post. I don't know if I can even describe it accurately but I'll give it a go. Since I quit ,5 months ago, I occasionaly make an odd snuffling, snorting sound sorta like a horse. I can't really tell if it originates in my nose or throat but I think it's my nose. Also, sometimes it feels likes there is some kinda blockage there, I've turned into a mouth breather cuz I can't seem to get enough air in through my nose. Who else could I ask these questions.....anyone experience anything like this? What were some of your weirdest recovery symptons?

Could this just be some kind of simple sinus drainage that just cropped up after you quit or just noticed after ridding your system of the nicotine. Smoking masks a lot of minor things going on in our body that we don't pay attention to until we quit then we have the time to get in touch with our body. Sorry I'm not of more help but you might need to see your doctor about this if it keeps bothering you.

Sandy I have never heard of that, but maybe you have a sinus infection. I would maybe just mention it to your doctor. That is a strange one. I havent had any weird ones yet. Karyn

Sandy, if you were coughing like crazy, I could relate that to getting rid of the crap you put into your lungs for all those years. But no, I'm with the others on not having heard of your particular symtoms before. I'd have it check out with your doctor.

Sandy, I don't think you're so weird. I've been having a similar problem. I've always had sinus problems and right after I quit they seemed to improve. But now they've gotten worse again. I'm just assuming it has something to do with quitting and that it will eventually get better. Let us know if you find out anything from your doctor.

I was alot like Barby...sinuses got better then worse. I have alot of drainage now for some reason (affects the back of my throat) but I use over the counter and prescription stuff now and again to get some relief. I went to an ENT for advice and I would recommend the same to you. I am not convinced that smoking has anything to do with this but like Ann says, you never know what smoking masks.
Keep the quit Sandy

Ask your doctor about stomach acid reflux. It can combine with sinus drainage and cause many problems.
He can recomend a treatment. Maybe Nexium, etc.

Yup, a doctor could help. Could be you only need a decongestant.
