Saw you chime in earlier stating your new quit status.
To make a quit work you have to want it more than anything else. It is not a try thing. Set your mind to it and you will make it!
Keep us informed of your progress.

For the welcome to the board. I am now quit for nearly eighteen hours.............Urges come frequently, and I've stayed indoors to try and avoid succumbing to old behaviors, but I have to leave for work soon.......so we'll see what the day brings. Sigh............ I just keep checking in here for new inspiration and facts to keep me strong. Ellen

Ellen, hang in there, I am on day 19 and if you can just get through today, then worry about tomorrow. It gets so much better. Change your routine, and stay positive, tell yourself you chose not to smoke, and you want to live, and there is no reason on earth to put those horribel toxins in you. I promise it does get better Karyn I have been quit for 2 Weeks, 4 Days, 9 hours, 26 minutes and 33 seconds (18 days). I have saved $41.38 by not smoking 275 cigarettes. I have saved 22 hours and 55 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 1/30/2005

Ellen, congratulations on having the courage to reclaim your life from nicotine addiction. It's not an easy journey, but let me tell you, the things you discover during the journey are well worth the effort!!! You will rediscover yourself, your sense of smell and taste; you will learn patience. Don't ever lose your sense of humor, because it will help you get thru some hard parts.
All in all, though it IS worth everything you put into it!!
Welcome!
