I have no idea why but I have been having cravings bad for the last couple of days. Thought I was past this but obviously not.

Cravings correspond to triggers (IMHO). So think back to what you were doing and thinking. If you haven't done something for a while and suddenly you are now doing it the brain kicks in along with the demon saying:
"We use to smoke after this task/chore/emotion" That's what you have to look out for, even a year down the line some things that rarely occure like a funeral or fight with a loved one will trigger the brain into thinking about "wouldn't it be nice" "just one to ease the pain/stress" etc.

Ann's right Country. Try to find what triggered the thoughts. Once you do, you can reprogram your brain to respond differently to the situation. You're doing great. Don't let a few cravings do you in. You've come too far.

I know what you are saying Country. I still get the occassional crave, but it is more like a I want one just because my friend has one and its not fair, it would be so nice to just kick back and have it. Then I sort of slap myself out of that mode and remember all the reasons I am not doing that nasty thing now, and why I stopped to begin with. AS much as I may think I want one, (usually in social situations now) I know it is just a response to something I have done for so long. Remember we are pretty fresh into this Country, it took us years and years and years to to get that nico demon deeply embeded in us, it will take awhile for it to stop coming up so much. Hang in there. These will pass and you will be back on track. Hugs Karyn

Ditto what everyone else said. I still get cravings sometimes too and sometimes I even whine "but it's not fair!!". Fact is: I feel better and am happier without smoking. Even if I went back to smoking I know I would want to quit in a few weeks or months. Who wants to go through hell week all over again?!
