No sleep, I'm sure, is related for me to no smoking. I won't smoke but the abscence of nicotine has opened up more than my lungs. Memories come back, sometimes causing feelings of guilt & frustration, or even feelings of times of happiness & contentment. The mind didn't really ever deal with the issues and now it must. Like stirring up a puddle of water, it becomes muddy colored and one has to wait for it to clear again.
I am certainly glad I quit smoking. Cigarettes are an end, not a beginning. The feelings at a quit start of "losing something" are soon replaced by "gaining something" and then with "maintaining" what you have gained.
Watch the animals of the world. The birds. See the way they work to survive. Seeing only food & shelter & safety. Maybe to be a successful smoking quitter we must shorten our eyesight temporarily to immediate goals so we can reach our ultimate goal. Control & health!
