Hello everyone. I am up much earlier then I planned. Just planned to get up and go to the bathroom and there was my son sitting on the edge of his bed throwing up. Poor guy. He is back in bed now watching t.v. My labrador, Jake, decided he NEEDED to go out and so did our sheltie/shepherd mix LOL! So here I am posting. I love the quiet of the morning, minus one of the dogs whining LOL! I thought I would get some postings done early!
Today is a great day because I am smoke free. I am looking forward to whatever happens today. My habit at this time of the morning if I was up would have been smoking 3 or 4 cigarettes and it is so great not to have that, even if the thought still crosses my mind, now and again.
I was posting somewhere yesterday how the cigarette butts used to pile up in my ashtray and I would smoke one after the other and sometimes not even realize how much I was smoking till I looked at the ashtray. Now I have NO ashtray next to me and it is pretty cool.
Well, I will close for now but just wanted to stop by and wish you all a great morning and hope you have a super smoke free day all. God bless!!
I have been quit for 2 Weeks, 2 Days, 7 hours, 24 minutes and 5 seconds (16 days). I have saved $130.46 by not smoking 652 cigarettes. I have saved 2 Days, 6 hours and 20 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 9/8/2005 9:00 PM
Hugs and love,
Karen

Good morning Karen, Sorry to hear about your little guy. I know what you mean about the ashtray overflowing with cigs and not really realizing how much you were smoking. By now I too would have had a couple of smokes. And while yes, it is the first thing I think about in the morning (for now), that doesn't mean that I have to act on my thoughts. I can hardly wait until my guy gets home from hunting. He's been wanting me to quit for a long time, and I told him that it has to be MY quit, not a quit for him.. He had no idea when he went hunting that he'd be coming home to a smoke-free woman. How cool is that? Especially when he once said to me, "Admit it Karen, you will never stop smoking." hehehe Have a great smoke-free day!

Ah, yeah...great start to the day, Karen; I hope your son gets well soon. I also remember the over flowing ashtrays..."Didn't I just empty that?!"
Gross. I am so glad I quit. Glad doesn't even begin to describe it. How about ecstatic? : )

Morning, Karen!! I've been waking up at all hours of the night lately and really enjoy how quiet everything is.
I used to hate when I would put my cig in the ashtray and it would re-light the butts that were already there. Ugh!
Looking back on the nasty habit we used to have and all of the different aspects of it really can help us strengthen our quits.

I have been waking up all hours of the night lately too Judy. I usually have to go to the bathroom and I look at the clock and it is 12:30 am., 2:00 a.m., 3:15 a.m., 4:30 a.m. LOL. If I feel wide awake around the 3:30 or 4:30 mark I can stay up as I am finding that sometimes if I go back to sleep I feel worse when I wake up the second time. I have trying to get a good sleep schedule going and going to bed between 10:00 and 10:30 every night no matter what. I work a lot of days at 6 a.m. so it works out well. I do feel, even though I am waking up once an evening or so that my sleep is more quality then when I smoked.............pretty cool. I feel more energetic most days too, both physically and mentally!! So I will keep the quit today and God bless you al!!
Hugs and love,
Karen
