(not the cheerful seer at a seance!) ;D
Well, here I am in the middle of day two. My body is screaming for the stimulation of nicotine, my restless mind it telling it to shut up --what we need it tranquility! I'm in the middle of a war zone here. KavaKava helps with the jitters, but I can't find a darn thing for stimulation and energy. Haven't hit the anger or tears stage yet. Maybe I'll slip by that one this time.

Hey sweetie. I know it is hard but we are here for you and I am sure glad you are posting. Congrats on making it to day 2! You know, sometimes I just had to take my quit an hour at a time or less if it helped. One day at a time usually works fine for me but I use whatever works. I realize I am on the patch so I don't have the physical cravings like others but the mental stuff can still get to me. That happy medium will come I believe. I am so proud of you for trying again. It took me 20 months to seriously come back and quit smoking. I tried before that and posted here a year ago but I never could get through 1 single day. Of course I was trying it cold turkey but still I think I just was not ready to quit either. NO use kidding myself about that.
Keep posting and let us know if there is anything we can do for you sweetheart.
I have been quit for 1 Month, 4 Days, 13 hours and 32 seconds (34 days). I have saved $276.33 by not smoking 1,381 cigarettes. I have saved 4 Days, 19 hours and 5 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 9/8/2005 9:00 PM
Hugs,
Karen

Deep breathing Dot. You know the routine. Lots of water, water, water. Hobbies if you have any are a great way to take your mind off of cigs, and they keep your hands busy. Reading helps also. I know I'm not telling you anything you don't already know, but sometimes a reminder helps to keep us focused. Congrats on day 2. Baby steps, one minute, hour, day at a time, whatever works for you. We're here for you, use us. We haven't heard a really good rant in a long time. Are you game? That reminds me. Has anyone heard from JP?

Hobbys, PattiB??? I have so many and can't get focused on any of them. I'm weaving a set of placemats on my loom. Then there's a jigsaw puzzle going on the back porch. In the living room, I'm knitting dishcloths and have a crossword puzzle book going. By the bed is a pretty good book, and I'm in the middle of that. And we've been watching the baseball playoffs. In the middle of it all is the refridgerator and FOOD!!!

Dot I'm so glad you quit and congratulations on getting to day two. You know how hard this quitting business is some sail through and others want to kill . You have been through this before so you know what to do. I don't know if any of us are the same person we were when we quit. We developed new habits to replace the old habits, we look at things differently now, we have grown and moved to another place in our lives. You know you will too it's just that this first week is #ell! Come her and post, keep yourself busy, deep breathe and drink lots of water.
