Hi you all...new member here. I have smoked on and off for the past 20 years. Have tried to quit dozens of times..longest being just over one year. Today is day two for me I hate the fact that i go back, and the hell of feeling like i do i can't believe i get sucked back in I have allot of motivation and support so wish me luck I am a runner and plan on running my first marathon in may with my husband(non smoker). Nice to find this great site as i know the journey ahead is a tough one and any tips and motivational stories...or just to know there are others who have beat or are on the path of a new healthier life journey helps. Looking forward to reading posts. Thanks a bunch!!

Back at the office and a new year of plans to accomplish.
Great to feel no nagging pull to smoke anymore....and THAT, Happy4life, is what awaits you too -- if you can stay the course and not ever give in to your cravings.
A runner you say. Well, I would think that you would notice the change in your body more quickly. Breathing is very important to running. It's very hard to breathe when your lungs are coated in black tar. When you feel that crave come on you, run...run for your life! Soon you will notice that you can breathe a little deeper and run a little longer. But that's only a partial of the many benefits one attains when quitting. Welcome to the group!

Welcome 2006! I'm glad your here. I hope you stick around for a while. 2005 was supposed to be a whole year but I think it was only around for about seven months. How come you crazy years go by so fast? At any rate you are going to be my first nicotine free year since 1980. Thank you for coming. You will be a year to remember.

Hi Happy
Quit aids do NOT hurt. Drink more water. Remember, remember, remember. If you want to win the race, you have to give it your best. KTQ
