and before the guests arrive I post this little tidbit:
My daughter is 5 today. She has never seen me smoke.
Sometimes, it's the absence of some memories that matter. If she were to draw a picture of the family, there would not be a cloud of smoke beside me.
Happy weekend everyone!

My daughter is only a year and a half, and although I do not smoke around her she has seen me smoking on the odd occasion, that is part of the reason for me quitting.

She's a little lady Judy!
(Heck I started this thread so I can add\on and alter it...)
Howdy John-bubby, welcome!
You picked a good time to quit! And just what makes a good time to quit?...any time and every time.
My son aka The Boy was about the same age as your daughter when I took on this Quit. I used to never smoke in the house since he was born, but I adapted by frequently smoking outside the car when he was strapped in it. Or my personal low-point of addiction-- feeding him thru the front door of my house: He was strapped in his high-chair and I was in a chair outside, in January (it gets cold here) smoking away. I would pass his next spoonful thru the door and close it to puff away. I was already quit when The Girl came on to the scene. The Boy probably has no memory of me smoking. As they grow up they won't have to contemplate why someone they love would continue such a nasty, smelly, self-destructive addiction. Nor will I endure the accusations of a small child like that experienced by my brother when his kids came home from school one day and called him a Drug Addict for smoking.
Take your vacation John and do it smokeless! Get yourself off to a running start and keep it going.
