;D Good morning everyone. It is a new day and a new week. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.
I will start off the roll call today. Still here in Minnesota where it is getting a bit chilly as of late but still breathing that fresh air from being smoke free. Have a great week everyone.

Spent yesterday as a chaparone for The Boy's class field trip. Fortunately, the kids didn't test my nerves as I lost my voice over the weekend due to a cold I caught from The Girl. Vocal communication is much improved today.

GOOD AFTERNOON FOLKS - I'M A NEWBIE REACHING OUT FOR ANY SUPPORT I CAN GET - I MADE A DEAL WITH MY 7 YEAR OLD SON 2 WEEKS AGO THAT I WOULD QUIT YESTERDAY - MY SON PLANNED A LITTLE CEREMONY WHERE WE WOULD CRUSH THE PACK OF SMOKES AND BURY THEM IN THE YARD - WHICH WE DID - I STARTED ON THE COMMIT LOZENGES THIS AM AND SO FAR SO GOOD. THEW PROSPECT OF STOPPING SCARES ME TO DEATH - I CAN'T IMAGINE NOT SMOKING AND I CAN'T IMAGINE STAYING WITH IT. I KNOW DEEP DOWN THAT THERE ARE NO ENDEARING QUALITIES WITH SMOKING - IT SMELLS, ITS EXPENSIVE, THERE ARE ONLY 2 PLACES LEFT IN NY WHERE IT ALLOWED, AND THERES THAT LUNG CANCER THING AS WELL. I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FORM ANY ONF YOU - THANKS TOM

Hi Tom, glad to have you join our on-line family.
Scared sure. Of what, tho? No crutch in times of stress? What will happen to you in the future? There's many things in life to worry about and smoking shouldn't be one of them. All of us are scared at the beginning of our quits, but thru time the fears go away along with the cravings.
Try patches, pills, gum, water, exercise, sleep along with your quit aids. Whatever works.
Sometimes not many people look in and post on this board during the weekend so don't be surprised if Monday is the lst you hear from most members. Many of us are outside, or at work or catching up on sleep.
In the meantime, read past posts. Don't stop trying. Go visit non-smoking friends. Someone will look in during the weekend.
Congrats on your decision on giving up cigs. Your 7-year old is quite astute!
