Yesterday morning, I decided I might as well quit and get it over with a day sooner than planned. The day went well, so here I am on day two. I already knew from the past that quitting isn't near as terrible as we think it will be.
This morning, I started on the high dose of Chantrix. It makes me slightly nauseous, but nothing I can't live with....just went back to bed for a while. I really think this will be the quit-aid of the future; it seems to help with the cravings without adding more nicotine to one's body. Time will tell, and I'll keep you posted in case there are others who are thinking of trying it.
I'm determined not to get fat this time. My son is coaching me on his "bow flex". ;D. so next year you may see me on their ads. "70 years old, and here I am in a bikini"
I KNOW I can quit for 24 hours, so I'll just do that one more time.

My attitude is rather low here on day three. My evening pill made me very sick last night, so tried it this am. on an empty stomach....we shall see. Cold turkey doesn't sound very appealing. Anyway, 48 hrs behind me....let's see...if I do that much again, I'll have 96.

I know it's easier said than done but 'attitude' is everything in this quit. Even if you walk around all pissed off, it's okay....as long as your attitude is that you're not going to pick up the smokes. You know the drill Dot....busy yourself with other things....no pity parties, no junkie thinkin'.

HI DOT! So glad you're back. I've been shamefully lax about coming here. I just don't think about smoking any more. I have a friend that has been 3 weeks smoke from using Chantix. She says she thinks about smoking, but does not crave smoking. Just thoughts, and that she can deal with. I hope all as well for you as it is for her. Take care.

Dot, how is the nausea? So does it really help with the cravings though?
