Roll is called. Here's a reason for me wanting to move south: Taken this morning of the thermometer outside the kitchen window. It looks like it's somewhere's about -12~-13 F. It was so cold this morning that the mini-van's door didn't want to shut as the grease in the door locking wasn't moving right. Took a while but the latch finally caught. Not a good day to be standing outside smoking like a leper. 10.27.99

Moving south is sounding good to my family too! Although we're actually in a heat wave this morning, it was a whopping 24 this morning and we're supposed to be above freezing for our high. Amazing! Only bad thing, it's only supposed to last for 3 days. Oh well, at least some of the ice will melt.
Have a great day everyone!

It's zero in SW Ohio. I think I'll stay inside today. It's not supposed to get much warmer all week. I hate winter. Blah, blah, blah...
Quit since 1/1/04

Keep the South green, bring money! Y'all are anytime, but if you happen to like the winter here, well have you're jacket handy. 40 today in this part of NC ... not too many freezing temps forecast for the week.
I enjoy my morning walks in the brisk air ... it's nice to smell the world come alive.

Checking in from Lotus Land where the weather is at last normal for this time of year - that is except for the fog - it's a mistly, slight foggy 45 to 50 degrees F and by reading everyone else's weather, it does seem that this is the time of year we get to laugh and enjoy living here - many newbies come to Vancouver thinking it's like California - sunny and warm and when it isn't they are disappointed but the West Coast in BC at least is not sunny and warm but mild - not too hot in the summer and not too cold in the winter - and on good days, you can even golf in the winter here. We actually only have two seasons, spring and fall. This winter was really freaky - global warning and all that - speaking of freaky - prayers and good wishes to those in that tornado hit area of Florida.
I've been getting a few thoughts of the 'ahh' cigarette lately but they are passing thoughts. It makes me realize that this is the danger zone where one could slip and puff. That's why you have to make the good things about not smoking really stand out - to cancel out the negatives. I think a thread on the positives of not smoking would be a good thing.
Have a great and smokeless week everyone.

batman here smokefree. tornados hit just ne of the bat cave. truly devistaded area. some scum bags trying to take advantage of some of the older people in that area. IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN . there are too many good men, women, teens and just volunteers from all over this great country of ours that said NO WAY!!!!! we can handle this. there are times that i think the only thing that people today care about is themselves. i am so wrong and it takes situations like this that makes me proud to be an american. yes, there are volunteers from other countries like canada, mexico, great briton etc etc. there is still hope for the human race. please do not mind me ranting but if something is right, it should be said.

Hang in there Batman! You are absolutely correct. It only takes one bad apple to bring everyone down but don't forget that most people are good. Our prayers are with you.

Schools cancelled on Monday due to cold. My son was ecstatic. My son and hubby got to stay home and I did not LOL. How does that work? It is ok...hubby needs the break.
I am still smoke free and having many obstacles to my smoke free status but I am winning with the help of you all and all the support I have.
Have a great day and stay warm if you are in the north......it actually is above zero today.
Hugs,
Karen
