Message: LIES I TOLD MYSELF (QuitNet 9/10/00)
I am a better worker when I smoke. I can be more awake and more stimulated when I smoke. I am more relaxed when I smoke. I think better when I smoke. I am a better lover when I smoke. More relaxed anyway. My husband cannot smell, so who cares what I smell like. Just one won't hurt. My family likes me more when I am smoking. I cannot be happy without smoking. I can smoke only 2 a day for the rest of my life! I can smoke a cigar a day to ease me out of this. Just one won't hurt. Who cares anyway? Chewing tobacco... that's the answer! Just one won't hurt. Who cares if I die? I'll show them. That'll teach them to piss me off! It's his/hers fault that I smoked. I can't quit now because __________! I will quit as soon as __________ is over. I can't quit, who was I kidding? Just one won't hurt.....oh make that two. I am NOT giving up my coffee. I'd rather smoke. Just one won't hurt.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh yes, the lies. I think I've used quite a few of those from time to time.
