I went to a funeral last Saturday. My 61 year old cousin passed away. She had emphysema. She was on medicare which would not cover oxygen so she slept sitting up in a chair at night instead of her bed. Her husband always sat in the chair beside her and held her hand while she slept. She went to bed that night and he noticed she wasn't breathing, but by the time help arrived it was too late. I too have emphysema. I never told alot of people but my doctor told me to try to take a walk everyday cause he said it would help my lungs. I didn't want to cause I always have to stop to catch my breath and figured the neighbors were watching, but my husband told me not to worry about what anyone thinks, so I take a short walk in the evening weather permitting. I gained alot of weight and I think that also may contribute to my breathing problems. I'm not sure. Anyway, I just wanted to share this and if anyone has anything they want to post to keep me smokefree I am very grateful.Having emphysema is enough to make me stop, but I want to stop forever.
I have tried several times and this time I want to make it.
Two months, one week, four days, 20 hours, 17 minutes and 7 seconds. 1456 cigarettes not smoked, saving $382.44. Life saved: 5 days, 1 hour, 20 minutes.

HANG IN THERE COUNTRYBLOCS! You're doing it already! It's been over two months now. One day at a time. That's all there is to it. One day at a time and one step at a time.
God bless! Hang in there.
