Good morning everyone, I hope you had a great weekend and are ready to start the week. It was a great weekend for getting yard work done before the cold and snow start.

Good morning! The clocks went back this weekend and I enjoyed a beautiful sunrise - mist over the water, the blue skies above promising a sunny day - cold and sun make for fog and now a heavy fog is draping the city but the sun is winning. Another beautiful crisp sunny autumn day for us on the West Coast - however, it also means it will be pitch black when we leave the office tonight. More accidents happen to pedestrians during this transition time than any other time. Take care everyone. Wear some white for the drivers to be able to see you!

Here!
Still great weather for bike riding.....but many people have given up already as the paths are near empty.....too bad because with the changing of the season, the scenery is absolutely gorgeous. Lots of squirrels running around collecting goodies for the winter.

Frost in the mornings, chill in the air and see-through tree groves...yep we be in Fall!
Can't complain tho' as it only appears to be smoke coming out of my mouth as I breathe. Spring is coming..just gotta wait until it arrives.
I have to win the lottery or something and become a Sno-Bird!

Yeah Slim, it was very cold today, but we know it's only going to get worse. I'm glad I don't smoke any more either. Today in Walmart I saw many people in the motorized carts with oxygen running. Whew, I thanked God I was able to get about on my own two feet...for now. We never know what the future holds, though, do we? April 24, 2000

Good evening. I just got a email from Dee and she made a good point. She told me to hang in there and it will be almost a half a year. I didn't think of that. All I know is that it was hard but getting a little easier. I almost slipped several times but didn't. The Chantix is gone and I am on my own. I have alot of pounds to get rid of too. Four months, four weeks, two days, 22 hours, 8 minutes and 32 seconds. 3058 cigarettes not smoked, saving $802.84. Life saved: 1 week, 3 days, 14 hours, 50 minutes.

I am here late as usual. I gotta tell you...I am nervous...I have never had a quit like this one...I am doing so well and do not miss smoking in the least...hate the smell when around others that smoke...turns my stomach...my dilema now is fear to stop the champix...I have only 2 pills left...lack of confidence in my self I guess...fear that I have tried so many times before (as some of you know from the past)...and failed...do I perhaps give too much credit to the champix and not enough to myself? I have been actually taking only one a day for the past couple of weeks...find it tough sometimes but managing...will I be able to do it?...somewhere deep down inside do I have the strength to stay a nonsmoker? My health has done a 180 turn...would I be stupid enough to start up again? It is funny...when I think of smoking now it is not with a crave but a thought of ...do I really want one...my answer is always no...why would I...will I keep this mindset? I suppose it is all up to me...perhaps that is my fear...being responsible completely for something I do...fear that I will mess up...it sure is a mind thing...the physical has been a piece of cake...the head games you play with yourself...now that is something else indeed. JP: Can you get another prescript for the champix?
I remember when I stopped using the patch, I always kept a spare patch in reach in case I ever felt like slipping. Just knowing it was there and a LAST resort (instead of smoking) kept me going many a time.
Having a few extra of those pills may give you that mental support that you can hold on to, sorta like the box that holds fire extinguishers...you never want to have to use it, but you're glad it's there.
(btw...you ARE doing great!)

To me, it's a no brainer, JP. I agree with Don...after all you've been through to get this far, what would be the harm in having a short supply as a back-up? The fact you're a bit anxious about not having a back up suggests you may need something in case things get a little shaky. If you don't use them....so what. When you feel a little stronger, toss them.
