Good morning everyone. I am off this week so have more time for the computer. I wanted to come and start the roll call for us all. I am smoke free and just celebreated 800 days yesterday and can not believe it. You were all the ones that got me my start and have supported me too. Thank you very much.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving if I don't get back on here before then.
Karen

Thanksgiving week Can't believe how time flies.....just look at my meter.... :-) I have much to be thankful for not the least of which is remaining smoke free!!! I was UpNorth with my Dad and a good friend. My friend and I went to the bar to let loose a bit and watch Michigan Lose to Ohio State boooooooooooo Terrible game anyways...my friend recently quit and said...hey..i am on a get away...i'm drinking...why not bum a smoke....i just said NO you won't! End of discussion. A smoking friend may not have been so convincing. just food for thought. KTQ 6 Years 5 Months 1 Week 17 Hours 55 Minutes 5 Seconds. Cigarettes not smoked: 70552. Money saved: $14,110.48. Time/Life saved: 1 Yr 4 Mos 1 Day 22 Hrs 43 Mins 58 Secs

Right on Slim! Stay quit. And kudos to Karen for staying quit.
My computer wasn't working this morning - the keyboard was not connecting. Tried two other keyboards and still nothing. Our tech guy told us to try re-booting (which of course was the first thing I did before anything else) - and well, it worked. The mystery of computers...they are sort of like people that way aren't they? Strange. Anyhow, checking in from the great Pacific Northwest where true to form it is raining. We are however to have sun all week and the next with low temps ... hopefully that will come true later on today.
However, it's always sunny for us non-smokers/quitters isn't it? Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Oh that temptation to 'have just one'! Harmless right? Easy to pick up quitting as soon as the get-away is over... You did right by your friend Slim. Of course a smack upside his head would've helped, followed by a stern 'what are you thinking man?!'. Dance with the devil and the devil will gnaw your feet off, so you can't get away. Sheeesh.
Anyway, Monday is here. Dreary outside which in turn makes me a little dreary. But later this coming weekend I'm having a dear friend visit from FL that I haven't seen in a while, so I'm looking forward to that. I think he still smokes since his wife died 2 yrs ago. My bet is smoking did not make it all better, but time helps. He's also bringing his lady-friend along that I've heard so much about and spoken with...I'm sure she's been more reassuring than any cigarette.

prep time for Thanksgiving dinner. 3 sons, 2 daughter-in-laws & 5 grandkids coming over. Not a whole lot but cooking does take a bit of time. I'll help my wife with dinner, she said she'll help me with the dishes. Ha Ha.
For all us quitters, have a second serving of banana pudding. We've earned it !!!

No banana pudding at my house Jim, just good old pumpkin pie! With REAL whip cream. YUM! I might have some pie with my cream! lol. No smoking in this house for many many moons. Will be 8 years in April. Looking forward to our 8th anniversary. Sounds so much better than 7. lol Happy Turkey Day to all my fellow quitters. Ah, it's good to be quit!
