For some reason, the board won't let me stay logged in more than the 6hr minimun. I try to change that option, but it just goes right back as soon as I log off. Can you help?

I believe this board uses a "cookie" file that is placed on your computer with an end time. Then you can leave the computer on and surf elsewherer. When the end-time is surpassed, you get automatically logged out. If you log out manually then that cookie file also gets cleared. There should be a way to clear these types of cookie-files manually in Windows Internet Explorer, under the tools-internet options tabs. Other programs I am not familiar with how it's done.
I could not alter the login options in the administration controls of this board. I'll look into the proboard support forum on this feature and maybe learn something that can be applied here, as I've never played with the feature.

I checked the support forum for this place about this issue and a couple areas of solution were suggested.
The first thing to do is to confirm that YOUR computer's date and time matches very closely to this board's. A big time difference between the two could cause these issues.
A work-around may be to use the stay logged in "forever" option.
It was also suggested to clear your computer's cookie file and ensure that cookies are enabled for use on your internet browser.
From the support forum FAQ:
Problems Logging In
I login fine, but when I click a link it logs me out!
Your browser is not accepting cookies properly. First check to make sure you have cookies enabled. Also, in Internet Explorer 6 you need to make sure that you have 3rd Party Cookies enabled.
Your members need to enable cookies, tell them to do the following:
Click on tools on the menubar on your browser Click on Internet Options on the drop menu On the window that pops up, click on the privacy tab Put the arrow and track so that the arrow is on low Click ok
This will enable third party cookies:
Click on tools on the menubar on your browser Click on Internet Options on the drop menu On the window that pops up, click on the security tab Click on the custom button On the little window that pops up, scroll down to where it says cookies, and make sure the radio button is in the enabled position Click save
In Firefox:
tools >> options >> privacy >>
look for the 'cookies' section. Make sure it has 'accept all' ticked, and then click on 'exceptions' and make sure your proboard url isn't in there.
