OK....I got really tired of having itchy places from patches, so I've decided to quit those, and I'm doing ok. Also have enough chantix left to take halves for the next couple weeks....enough to shut down whatever nicotine receptors I have left in my pea-brain.
I never felt really good as a non-smoker....maybe too many years of depending on that stimulation. And I'm not looking for praise or pats on the back. I just want all of you to keep telling me how good YOU feel without smoking. ;D
I need heros!
Dot One month, two weeks, 23 hours, 41 minutes and 16 seconds. 1879 cigarettes not smoked, saving $230.14. Life saved: 6 days, 12 hours, 35 minutes.

Oh Dot! You are doing just great! You've gone a month and a half already! Just don't smoke. That's the secret. Want all you want, just don't have a cigarette. It will pass.
I've been going non-stop at work this past week and I am loving it and I would not be able to do it if I were smoking. My concentration is way better. My social life is way better. My temperment is way better. And I feel fantastic and wholesome. Hang in there! It's worth it. Every last **&&%% crave! It's worth it.

Dot, you are your own hero for quitting you don't need us.
I will tell you that YES it gets easier every day just a little bit better than the day before. You will have cravings and they could hit at the worst possible time. You need to prepare for that and what you will tell yourself when it happens. I started walking about two years ago and at first it was awful huffing and puffing. Now I can walk in 99 deg heat and sub zero weather, it makes me huff and puff but not from smoking it's from working through the heat and the cold. I can run - yes run up and down the steps a thousand times a day without passing out.
The longer you go without nicotine in your body the better off it will be. It (nicotine) won't fix your financial problems, it won't bring back a lost family member, it won't make you feel better when stressed. Think carefully when you THINK you really want that cancer stick and to pick up that old habit again. It's just the demon talking to you and not your calm rational mind.
