1. Don't EVER wait for things to be perfect. The obstacles will ALWAYS be
there. They will never just go away. Find a way through them and just DO it.
2. You cannot take a self-defeating action without first convincing yourself to
do it. No matter who is to blame for your problems. YOU are responsible for
them.
3. When you have the courage to think for yourself, the strength to accept
what is, the commitment and discipline to make a difference, THEN you are
free. You are truly free to live with purpose, joy, and fulfillment.
4. Look ahead and consider the consequences of what you do. Every action
has consequences. It is vital to consider the consequences BEFORE you act.
5. Excuses to smoke are easy to come by, but they are useless. They are
shallow and they bring NO lasting fulfillment. Find a reason to succeed at your
new smoke-free life that will far outweigh the petty reasons that you come up
with to do it. Implant this reason deep within your brain and keep going for as
long as it takes.
6. Everything of value has a price. If you are not willing to pay the price, you
are doomed to experience a never-ending frustration.
7. Remember why you started. Remember where you are headed. Think of how
great it will be to get there...and just keep going straight ahead.
8. Don't fight the withdrawals, anxiety, depression, etc....move on past it.
Instead of using your energy to fight bitterness or resentment, use that
energy to walk away from it.
9. Close your eyes and imagine you are free. Let go of the negative feelings
and get on with your life. Always remember to look straight ahead and never
look back.
10. If you need a friend, come to the board. Do it BEFORE you give into the
addiction. There are SO many people that are willing to help.
