Happy New Year! And a big welcome to the group. There's nothing like starting the New Year right, and I'm sure you're not alone. Come here as often as possible, read old posts and start new ones...there's never been a question that doesn't have a good answer! A lot of the people here have really long quits, so there a lot of experience here, and proof that quitting is possible. You really must be good to yourself as you heal, and hopefully, the people around you will understand if you act a little spacey or strange.... Like you, I blew a long quit a few years ago. But I'm learning how to fit in to a smoke free world now. This too shall pass. Dot Two months, one week, four days, 8 hours, 0 minutes and 41 seconds. 2893 cigarettes not smoked, saving $361.88. Life saved: 1 week, 3 days, 1 hour, 5 minutes.

Practice makes perfect right?! Since you've been thru this before you are better prepared to do it again. A smoker is an evil thing now...a far cry from 50 years ago, but we learn.
Stick with it!

Thanks all! I know how much support meant to me that last quit. This time around, all my smoking buddys are quiting we have a great support group going there. My best friend got diagnosed with emphysema not to long ago. She's in the beginning stages so if she stays quit it shouldn't get any worse. None of us want to be there so we need to get healthy.

Hey it's great when a bunch all quit at once. Quit-buddies are wonderful and it fosters competition to keep quit.

Thanks Slim. Now I have that song going through my head. thanks all for the warm welcome. Day 5 and all is well. I still have this nagging cough. Plus I picked up another cold. I think I just need to sleep for a week to regain my strenght.

Coughing can be a good thing. You're getting all of that crap out of your lungs. Sleeping for a week is a good idea if you can do it. Hang in there.

Cough is all gone now. Although I was out the other night at a smokey bar and coughed all the next day. For some reason I have been craving since yesterday. No particular trigger. Just that nagging little thought in the back of my head.

Hello again, Barby. I'm happy to see you are still here, and sticking with the new you! Your time is adding up! I think we all went through that coughing stage, whether we had colds or not. One thing that tickles me, I can blow my nose and not have brown boogers!! Isn't that disgusting? ? LOL ;D Dot Two months, four weeks, two days, 5 hours, 42 minutes and 15 seconds. 3649 cigarettes not smoked, saving $456.40. Life saved: 1 week, 5 days, 16 hours, 5 minutes.
