I have been having lots of cravings and urges lately. I even think I tasted a cigarette this morning. I'm about ready to give in. Any suggestions?

Get out and go for a walk! Or get in a go for a shower/bath.
Smoking just ain't worth it!!
And now back to the hospital I go...I'm sure I can find some people who are in there with smoking related illnesses and ask them if they think smoking is worth it.

They hit us all no matter how long we have been quit. The trick is learning coping strategies, go for a walk, wash the dog, do your nails, go shopping, soak in the tub. What ever you do don't give into the crave, that is all it is a crave. It won't kill you, but you will feel so miserable when you light one up that you know you never should have given in to the crave in the first place. Go back to the archives and read, read, read.

we all have different ways of coping with craves. I still have them in the mornings, but not so bad during the day. A good long shower or bath does it for me. Or a walk. I still keep puzzles within reach..crosswords and jigsaws. And something to crochet or weave. Walking the dog helps. If all else fails, I eat!
Just come here and rant and rave. We might not have the same issues, but we will understand and be here for you.

An old friend from this site told me this once and it really worked for me. Walk walk and more walk, walk it off. everyone is right, remember how you felt when you started again. It is not worth it and really not worth it to go through hell again to quit. Hang in there!!! Big Hugs Karyn
