No it has nothing to do with the US election. Yesterday I had to put our old dog to sleep. She really was 'my dog' and I loved her greatly. Knowing it was the best and right thing to do doesn't fix the emotional wreckage currently experienced in our house. Time will heal, that too I know and like quitting (gotta tie that in somehow to this website) the act of "keep plugging along" will eventually get that wound to scar over. A waiting game. I don't won't to come across as posting for sympathy, but today I am sad and I miss my Cheyenne.

Ah Don. Thank you for letting us in and sharing this with us. I'm sorry for your loss. If it helps, I'll bet Cheyenne had a GREAT life thanks in large part to you and you are enriched for having known her too I'm sure. I believe the end is as important as the beginning. Go with the sorrow and loss and remembrances and honour her memory.

Sad to say but I've been there many times over the years with both cats and dogs. They are a part of your life, you love them and now you need to mourn them. My heart goes out to you for your loss it's not easy to lose a friend and member of the family. God Bless.

The loss of a beloved pet always makes me cry, even when it isn't MY pet. It leaves a big hole in your heart that nothing, not even another dog, can fill. ((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))

Don I am so sorry to hear about your dog. I know how hard this is. Prayers are coming your way hon. This helped me when I had to put my beagle, Snoopy, to sleep. And I had been through it before him. www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rainbowb.htm((((((((((((((Don))))))))))))))))))))) Karen

Don, sorry about your friend, Cheyenne. It's so hard when that time comes, and yet, we know the day we bring our puppy home that that day will be there all too soon. I've been there more times than I care to remember and your loss makes mine fresh and new again. I too am sad, for you, for Cheyenne and for all the pets I have lost. Hugs and prayers to you my friend. Dee 4/24/00

The loss of a "member of the family" is painful to be sure. Our "animal" family members are precious...unconditional lovers of us all...and carriers of family memories. I have lost 2 beloved dogs...Sylvia and Mike...who together accont for 30+ years of my life, and my family's life. Today I share my life (with all it's many changes and unexpected turns) with my beloved canine comapanion, Luke...trhank god for the blessing of companionship!
