Good morning Ann! Newcomers from the rest of Canada to Vancouver are often confused when it rains here so much. They think it should be more like California. The thing is, Vancouver is good for mild winters not sunny summers. It might snow but only for a week or so and it gets quite slushy but the hills here make for chaotic driving as many don't have snow tires. Anyhow...no it's not cold here. It's quite mild out and even sunny today though it will rain later on this week. If it makes you feel any better, it can rain all through the winter months and the suicide hot line can get quite busy as months of darkness and perpetual rain can get you down. Some might even prefer snow and sun to this but not me...This year has been quite nice with lots of sun and not too heavy rainfalls. Of course, too little rain is not good here. Our water reserves need the snow and snow melt and our forests need to be watered...
Well, aren't I Ms. Chatty Cathy today! Well, went and did some Christmas shopping on Saturday whilst stopping in to have a bite in one of my favorite coffee places where they make this divine grilled cheese and tomato sandwich...making good headway in my Christmas shopping. How about you all?
Lots of extra cash to spend on my presents now that I don't smoke!

Busy busy here.
Looks like we'll have a white xmas the way things are going. I'm going to attempt snowboarding with the kids again this winter...with a few less bruises (on me) hopefully.
..back under I go, have a good day everyone!

Chilly in the south right now, but still no snow here. I"d like to see a good deep snow for Christmas, but that don't happen too often. Flo, I would have thought Vancouver would have rough winters? What do I know.......... Dot

Dot, we are certainly not California, but it is the Pacific Coast which makes for milder weather. We don't have sun as much as we would like (though it can be great) but our winters are mild and one can go golfing and skiing all in one day. I saw someone jogging at noon in shorts today for instance. I went to the restaurant next door without boots or coat. You should really come up and explore British Columbia. We call it God's country. Some of the most expensive real estate is found here as well but many of us are now disenfranchised - who can afford $350,000 and up for a condo!

Poor Slim Baby! I think everybody in Michigan is "under the weather" right now, or maybe just buried in snow. Maybe you just couldn't stand the shock after Florida!

Went Christmas shopping this morning. The air was crisp, clean and chilly. That's what they make coats for though! lol. Slim, put your feet up and relax with your favorite tv station, take a nap, listen to soothing music, or, in the real world, get dressed and go to work! Sorry. Hope you feel better soon. I was sick with whatever in October, and hope to stay well until next October. Wishing you well, my friend. Dee....also in Michigan
