Don't you just miss it?
You know what I'm talking about?
The thing that gives you that initial high? Yeah, that first puff, soooo satisfying, isn't it? You know the one I mean,.... it that lasts about 2 and half minutes and then it's gone? It makes you a little dizzy, maybe a little giddy? Light-headed at first makes you feel euphoric, doesn't it? Don’t ya just miss it?
Then what?
Then it drops you like an old sack of spoiled fruit, that's what! What a wonderful feeling to be so humbled, huh?
And how your energy drops to a lower level almost immediately. Oh that's a lovely feeling isn't it? And the best thing about it, it keeps deteriorating and it lasts as long as you keep smoking!! Bonus!
Sigh….The fatigue, the irritated eyes, the blotchy skin maybe? Oh and the smell, that attractive odour that draws everybody to you. Mixes so well with perfumes and colognes, doesn’t it? And the yellow teeth and fingers! Now, how attractive is that? Who can resist the temptation of kissing you? The colour also matches so well with your new outfit, doesn’t it?.
Gees, how could you forget that pleasant little tightness in the chest, or maybe the endearing gurgling sounds as you breathe that makes your loved ones smile so? Or that amusing raspy noise in your voice (always a winner when you have to give the boss a quick answer).
But, let’s face it, all of those wonderful side effects are nothing compared to how you feel about yourself after breaking a quit. The guilt and disappointment are truly something magical, aren't they? Wonderful little companions to the aching head and the congested sinuses don’t you think?
Let’s not forget those very special moments when you and your cig, alone at last after a long day's work, can relax in your favourite chair while all those fools are out pretending to enjoy doing such silly things as 'smelling the flowers', 'riding the bike', 'playing with the kids', 'throwing the ball to the dog', and all that other useless stuff that takes all that time and energy! Ugh!
Wouldn't you rather curl up with your good 'ol buddy, your best pal, Nic, and forget about all that trying “living life at it's fullest” nonsense?
...... NOT!
