Back in the saddle again. Yard is all green and the mosquitos want to play as well. Sure beats snow!

Late but here! Got laid out with a bad bad cold! Just got back to work today. Gosh, what a mess. I think I have some stressors going on. My cousin has only 2 weeks to 2 months to live with terminal cancer and that was bad enough. Now my poor mother put her back out on Monday. They had to take her to emergency. She is to lay flat for the next two days on ice. She has been caring for my poor papa 24/7 and it is taking its toll. We are going to have a meeting on the weekend to decide if we have to put my poor dad in a home as my poor mom just can't go on like this. You know, it is often the primary care giver that goes first? And of course, my desk is piling up at work.
Well, this is all stressful but smoking is not part of the equation. Thank goodness for that. No smoke hanging around stressing me out on top of everything. This cold would have turned into a bad cough if I were still smoking.
In times of stress, one has to stop and count one's blessings. Bless you all at this site. Bless all the vets and troops.

Flo, prayers for you & your family. I'm sure you'll make the right decisions. After all, you did decide to quit smoking ... and you've been successful!

Thanks Jimpops. I kind of hit "bottom" the other day and realized that getting all emotional and thinking the worst is not helping anyone. I began to get centered and got into a more positive frame of mind. I spoke with my mother last night and because everyone has rallied around her, she is being treated like the treasure that she is and was in a very good mood and feeling good about things. I think that it will be ok. We'll have to take it one day at a time, but it's not as gloomy as I thought it would be. Certainly, this is one of the fruits that have come from my quit - learning to take control of my emotions and thoughts. I don't know if this would have come about in the natural course, but it has all come about since I quit and the road that quitting has taken me on.
