Good morning all you quitters! Summer is not officially over yet but I notice a distinct change in the air. Days getting shorter. We here in the Pacific Northwest are experiencing nice summery days still. On my way to work this morning, while cutting through the hotel which is just next to my office, I saw a whole group of young people standing outside smoking. I felt a kinship with them and felt drawn to them because I felt a bit lonely. Non smokers do not connect like smokers do - they are more sane and calm. I heard my mother immediately though beseaching me not to make friends with them so I didn't. I suppose if I had listened to my mom years ago, I would never have started smoking in the first place. I am one of those people that cannot hang around smokers without smoking so I need to stay away from them and from situations where there is a lot of smoking.

Had a nice weekend. We are finally having summer and am going without rain for what looks like 2 weeks.
Lost our phone and internet at work due to road construction error so it was pretty quiet in the office today.
Sane and calm Flo? As I told my son yesterday, sometimes you just gotta embrace your insanity!

Had a great weekend of Golf. I had a long talk with a Man who smoked for 50 years and quit 6 weeks ago. He finally separated the craving to smoke as the addiction calling him to smoke, not something he really wanted to do. That is how he got over the hump. I think we all have to come to that realization to get past the first month or so..then the staying quit begins! Can't let your guard down...'just one' will kill a perfectly good quit. Have a great smokefree week all

It was a beautiful weekend in my area, got in lots of yard work. It's showing signs of nearing fall, some of the leaves are turning yellow/brown already.

Another Grandaughter married this past week. Might be a Great Grandad soon, heard the two married Granddaughters asking Aunts what childbirth was like, etc, etc,
Gonna visit the mountains this coming week. Near Burnsville, my neice in Florida has a cottage. Spend a night, drive the day. It's a good jumping off place located near the Blue Ridge Parkway & the Smokies.
Good walking weather now until heating season. Then we have some neighborhood homes burning wood in a fireplace for heat. It makes the air stink! I just pull my scarf up over my mouth & nose & keep moving.

I'm glad to hear you are doing well Jimpops. Take good care of yourself.
Don, you're right, sane does not equal not smoking ... except in my world. I am a totally different person since I quit smoking and getting more so as time passes! For instance, yesterday, I was wearing white slacks and a fushia pink lace blouse - how precious right? I don't think I would have worn that in my smoking days. Did anyone else change after they quit smoking?
