Well, we are truly having winter around the great lakes. Lots of cold - bone chilling - weather and a ton of snow. How are the rest of you coping in this weather? Can't take my morning walk but can get out and shovel so that will be my substitute for the day. ;D Still keeping my quit, how are you doing? ? Jan. 20, 2000

Happy New Year everyone!
Well Ann, I must say that we are back to 'seasonal norms' here in Vancouver which means mild weather and rain, lots of rain. Stay warm and make sure you get some fresh air each day.
Well, we in Vancouver are now almost there - the 2010 Winter Olympics that is. The locals are not all that happy. It's like getting the relatives in from out of town. Everyone has to bunk with someone else - disruption and grumbles all around. The whole downtown sector - just about - will be a no car zone. It will be public transit and walking. It doens't really impact me as I walk home from work anyhow and bus in the morning but those execs aren't really looking forward to it. Many are taking holidays during that time. Isn't it funny. There's a movement on where we will keep our Christmas lights until the Olympics and then we will light them up during the Olympics. I like that.
Well, 2010. Gosh, was it really 10 years ago we were all (at least many of us) scared of the Y2K thing?
Have a wonderful Happy New Year everyone filled with happiness, good health, prosperity and no smoking.

Happy New Year, Toot!
We survived Y21K!
Lights have all been taken as we had quickly celebrated The Boy's 12th bday.
Chicago lost their olympic bid which had many of us cheering. There was a horse farm by me that would've been used and a bunch of forest preserve land that would had been cleared too. After several years of tollway reconstruction, I'm happy to finally be able to move somewhere in my car.

happy new year! cold here, 20 at night & 30s day. We're usually in the 50s this time of year.
Thought I was fighting a cold, doc said it was a COPD flare-up. Gave me some meds for cough and congesstion. Everytime I's cough, the top of my head felt like it was about to explode. I'd wake up all nigjht long and hold my head and cough and howl thru the pain. Did that for 2 days but I'm a lot better today. Sure glad I quit smoking 10 years ago. After more than 40 years of smoking if I had kept going I'd be under an oxygen tent. I'm still kickin (just not as often).
Enjoy the outside while you can.
