Another Monday rolls around. 11 days into the new year...Do we have any New Year's Quitters out there? How 'bout everyone else? smokless and greenless/palm tree-less here. I even hear Jack Frost is nippy pretty far south this year, so I'm not alone in my skyward fist shaking. 10-27-99

Hi Don, till today I Haven't been willing to take my hands out of my coat pockets to shake them at anything! We expect a "warming" to occur with highs in the 50s. Time to pick up around the yard.

Burrrrrrrrr is right, only going outside to shovel these days. We never get this much snow and we have had a dusting to inches every day for almost three weeks. It always use to pass over us and dump on the east side of Cleveland.

Good morning! My New Year's Resolution? I've changed my mind three or four times now. I was going to select the motto, "Think from the end" but I might go with an oldie but goodie, Patience. Merriam-Webster says it means: Bearing pains or trials calmly without complaint; manifesting forbearance under provocation or strain; not hasty or impetuous." Guilty as charged! Who knew!
Well, we are not experiencing that cold snap that the south is. We had that last year. This year, with the winter 2010 Olympics scheduled to begin here in 30 days (Feb 12), we are experiencing a warm snap. Sure it's raining but it's warm. Sheesh. Time for Plan B.
At any rate, no smoking in my life! I was walking home the other night and thought of attackers and purse snatchers and this woman was in front of me, walking and smoking. When I used to smoke I used to think that I would use my cigarette as a weapon and thought I might carry a cigarette for protection and that was kiboshed in a New York second with the knowledge that if I had a cigarette in my hand, I'd want to have a drag. No. Steer clear of cigarettes!
