hello. I'm thankful I quit 10 years ago. A 2 1/2 month hospital stay in 08 could've been the end. Now using the inhalers and enjoying our 65 degree afternoons. So far our winter lasted 2 weeks. GLOBAL WARMING!

You know, our site may be small but it's still very difficult for many to quit. For one, an old friend's father just passed away last Tuesday - from lung cancer. For another, that young fellow I was telling you about last week who wanted to quit smoking and who I gave a big pep talk to is still smoking. I found this out becuase a young fellow who works with him at the auto spa where I take my car also smokes soooo I gave him the pep talk too. It's amazing how many young people smoke and I read somewhere that if you were in Hollywood, you would see how many of the stars smoke as they are all in the terraces at the restaurants puffing away. It is a diet aid for them as well as for models.
I wouldn't go back there for all the tea in China. I may be a smidge chubbier since I quit smoking but I am way healthier and happier. Good luck to all you lurkers who want to quit! They say those who join groups and get pep talks from others have a far greater chance of quitting and staying quit. Come join us.
