A day late, after the US Labor Day holiday. This is the emotional end of summer.
The flora and fauna do seem to note the coming seasonal changes...and so do I.
Well at least the mosquitoes should be relaxing their assault.
There's always the Fall harvest fests that are a treat.

I can sense the weather change coming with sun setting earlier, bird migrations forming, temps becoming moderate. We haven't had any "bone chillin" weather in some years, Maybe this year I can get out the heavy coat.
Another sleep test this weekend. 1st one showed me stopping breathing many times during the night, this time I wear a mask (of sorts) to improve breathing. As each day goes by, I find it to be stupidity that started me smoking in the 50s.

Time Flies doesn't!~
It has been such a dry summer here in Michigan, that the leaves are already falling. I love fall but raking the leaves is not my favorite.
Flo...so sorry about your Dad...i can't imagine that day for me. Don...i know how you feel. I was thinking about going to a physical therapist for my sciatic nerve paint that i feel in my leg and hip...and now my Shoulder ( rotator cuff) pain. Aging gracefully for sure...lol If we can quit smoking we can tackle these pesky problems.
no smoking for me: 9 Years 2 Months 3 Weeks 6 Days 2 Hours 10 Minutes 51 Seconds. Cigarettes not smoked: 101252. Money saved: $20,250.55. Time/Life saved: 1 Yr 11 Mos 3 Days 3 Hrs 27 Mins 15 Secs

Good morning everyone! The Canada Geese always let me know when autumn is approaching as they fly in their V formation, gathering their flock. The days get shorter and the leaves start to yellow and fall. It's always a bit sad isn't it saying good bye to the summer for another year.
Slim, thank you. It is hard losing a parent but there are different losses and losing a parent when you are young is far harder and most unjust while losing a parent who is 80 is part of the natural course. My dad passed away, encircled by his family and knew he was loved and we knew he loved us and it was a beautiful ending. Funnily enough, his spirit has been with me since he passed away, going so far as to help me pick out nail polish, getting a card for my mom, and generally just hanging around. He comes and goes now but if I miss him, I just call and he's there.
I quit smoking because of my dad and that has given me a second chance in life and I am eternally grateful for that. KTQ everyone.
p.s. About those aches and pains, I highly recommend you check out your local yoga studio. It has traditionally been a "woman" thing but a lot of men are discovereing the benefits, especially as we mature. However, the BC Lions football team here practices Hot Yoga before their regular work outs as they have found that the stretching prevents injuries. I do a yoga mix workout each morning and it has done wonders. It's not for losing weight as such but for agility and I find it has helped with many aches and pains which I thought were just part of aging but are now a distant memory (providing I continue working out). Slowly moving and rotating and stretching your joints each day keeps you feeling limber.

Hi Karen! It seems you have been away for a bit and it's good to see you back. Your message is so right on! After all is said and done, it's all about keeping the quit on this site and all the benefits that come from that. I too would like to say thanks to everyone for helping me keep my quit!
