"Visualise your desire to smoke as a cork bobbing around in the water.
Realise that if you fight it and push it down it will pop back up at you. The more energy you invest in trying to submerge the cork, the more force it will have as it pops back up at you. Tell yourself that the cork is doing no harm. Just let it be. Acknowledge it's there and it's OK for it to be there. Allow the cork to bob around. Allow yourself to feel that desire to smoke without fighting it. Then calmly focus on something else. Your quitlist. Read & post. Drink some water. Whatever... The cork will probably have just drifted away next time you look. If it's still there or another one comes along, just let them be. Those corks will pass and they won't do anything to you unless you apply force to them first. "
