I'm so glad you decided to join our group, and hope we can be of some help. Someone is usually around here, although weekends are slow. But we do look in often to see if someone needs help.
You've already got a good start, with 39 days. The cravings will still come, of course, but it's good if you have some plan in place when the triggers come along. Try to find new activities, exercise, do some handwork, just whatever. A craving usually passes within 5 minutes. We can find SOMETHING to do for that length of time!
Are you using any kind of quit aids? Are there other smokers in the house?
Just listen to that grandchild....they are wiser than we realize! (I've got 11, and 3 greatgrands....I know!)
Dot, 1 1/2 years smober.

TEXTThanks Dot! Such a nice warm welcome! I cannot use any NRT as the patches give me insomnia and I am already on AD therapy so Welbutrin is out. I think I just have to find ways to get new habits. I am a quilter so have been sewing more than normal the past 40 days. I think I should buy stock in the Kerr company (Canadian candy manufacturer) as I have been ODing on fruit drops. ;D In 2 weeks I fly to northern BC to spend 3 weeks with my youngest daughter and the grandkids (one of which is the grandaughter mentioned before) so I am quite sure she wouldn't let me get away with having a smoke.......even if I wanted to, which I don't (well, mostly!) I am busy but will check in when I can. Thanks again. RHM

Greetings R.H.M!
My kids don't remember the smoking me...as they should.
Sometimes, I don't remember the smoking me either and have to stare hard at some photos with a cig in hand.

Welcome, Red! You will never regret your decision to quit smoking. And why would you -- the rewards are so much greater than the habit.
