Okay, I've always been very organized and liked everything in it's place, but...
I was systematically cleaning my window blinds yesterday, and I think it was more to pass the time, because usually I hate to do it. I don't think my kitchen has ever been cleaner! I have finally retrieved all of the match box cars my son rolled under the stove!
I'm beginning to think it's a combo of newfound energy, and passing the time. Is it possible I smoked to pass the time?
Looking back I'm amazed at how "routine" it was...first thing in the morning...right after eating...any chance you get a break during the day...right before bed...from the parking lot to the store...etc. I still crave the smell, still want to inhale it, but I'm beginning to see smokers differently...
I've always known it was bad for you, ugly, smelly, etc.
but always succumed to the addiction. I have a mother in law who is always saying she needs to quit but can't...her son...my husband, feels in his heart that one day we will loose her because of smoking. She's overweight, doesn't get a lick of excercise, chain smokes, etc. She and I are close, and I've told her of my success (so far) with quitting. My husbands step father smokes too, so she wouldn't have much support at home. I'm not sure what I could do to help her, but I'd sure like to try something.
On the other hand, my husbands father (my inspiration) quit cold turkey after 47 years of smoking. He was actually my smoking buddy for years, and one day announced to us all he was done with them. As impressed and proud as I was, I was still "chapped" that he didn't include me or ask me to quit with him.
But if he could do it cold turkey after 47 years, I could surely do it with a few "aids"!
Sorry to go on and on...this place is becoming my journal since I have so many thoughts, but can't stand writing! Thanks for listening to my babble...
