Well I'm back from my fishing trip and have caught up on my work-backlog.
Fishing and more specifically-boat control, was tough. Sometimes even a vacation can be a lot of work.
On to the topic of smoking: My fishing buddy smokes which I do not mind. Smoke all ya want, it doesn't bother me. However, after bringing the boat back home and cleaning it out I found 2 good size burn holes in the carpeting in the back of my boat where he sat. Kinda pisses me off a bit. I'm gonna have to clip some extra carpet strands and glue them into the holes to hide them.
As for me, I had a couple cigars on the trip. I don't attribute them to any slip or a crumbling of my Quit as I had planned for them. These fishing trips are like mini-Vegas vacations for me, and the cigars stay there, they are not a part of my normal life. I do one of these trips about every other year and 2 years ago, I had a few cigars then too.
On the other hand my normal and abnormal life does not include inhaling cigarettes. For me, smoking a cigarette is completely off limits. I can never touch one of those again. They were once a part of my every day life. They were hard to run away from.
I like the freedom that I have now. I can choose, which is a very powerful thing. I like myself. I have no shame. I am also armed with knowledge. I know the past which dictates how the future should be viewed and acted upon. It's hard to choose when addiction rules your life.
Cigaretteless since: 10.27.99 Smokeless by choice.
