Congratulations on your decision to take control over your life. I saw your post on the New Member thread. Old habits are hard to break. The fact that you are realizing what you are doing 1/2 way to the door is great. At least you're not going all the way to the door and lighting up. I used to think that I couldn't talk on the phone, drive a car, etc. without a cigarette. I'd pick up the phone, and reach for a cig. Put the key in the ignition, and reach for a cig. Finish a meal, reach for a cig...... This will pass with time. Welcome to the group, and don't be a stranger.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!!! You have helped me in countless ways already. I can feel my addiction waning every day, and I owe alot to the helpful advice and sense of community on this site. You all really are helping to save lives everyday, and you should be commended for volunteering to help others. I hope I can help others in their journey to a healthier life in the way that you all have helped me. Here's to KTQ! ;D

Codey,
It seems like just yesterday I was in your situation. It does get easier as time passes and remember, you will win. I am glad you are doing so well. I find myself coming to this BB many times a day. Feel free to do the same.

One of the strange & unexpected benefits of a quit board is that it becomes an addiction of it's own, replacing the evil one you had.
A support board like this helps us "oldbies" stay quit. Sure, we can move on with our smokeless lives, but there's a certain internal celebration about being Quit that pulls us back here.
I hope you too experience that feeling Codey.
Granted, I'm not as extroverted as others, but I feel that gravity to this place none the less. The notion that my presence may somehow help another thru the throws of quiting as others, directly and indirectly, did for me on the old Just4u board instills a sense of fulfillment.
It's a battle, for sure but a battle better shared than faced alone.

Hi Codey.
Your life without smoke will be well rewarded as time goes on. You'll feel better, look better & smell better.
A decision to quit indicates a strong desire to succeed. And that means a strong mind & will. All quiters need to be congratulated. And you certainly are proving, to yourself & others, that you are a winner.
Welcome Jimpops
