The date almost didn't register. September 18. Four months ago, May 18, I quit smoking.
I've been quite busy with my new job and I've had hardly a minute to myself so it was a good test to see if I could stand on my own two feet away from this site and I'm doing ok. I love checking in here and knowing you're all here though.
I was really sick with the flu all last week. Thought I was getting over it but Saturday, woke up to the runs all weekend. Couldn't eat anything as a result. So, basically, have hardly eaten anything for two days, three if you count today...I am worried because I have been eating spinach humous - made at the organic store but nonetheless....so, I'm going to the doctor's today just to make sure....
Since I quit, I've been quite worried about my eating and glucose level. I found out that the extra weight I've put on was as a result of the extra eating I've been doing with this glucose thing and that I'm more balanced out now and I'm getting the hang of things - don't need to eat as much - though what I am eating is healthier.
I think between not eating in 2 days and being so busy, I'm not making a lot of sense here. Basically, I'm four months smoke free and loving it and have no intention of relapsing!
Don't smoke and don't hang out with those that do.

Sorry you don't feel 100% Flo, but being sick is so much better smokeless. Yeah, get that spinach thing checked out, so much for health food Kudos on the 4 month mark!! It's exciting to see those months accumulate!

You know how it works....smoking isn't an option no matter what! honestly I had all kinds of weird health issues in my first year quit but all is fine now and quitting was the best decision i could have made! The left side of you brain will always tell you that quitting is the right thing to do and smoking stinks! Common sense is a good thing!
Congrats on reaching another milestone and keep the quit _slim

Thanks everyone for the words of praise and encouragement. Thanks Don for the sympathy and thanks Slim for your post. It helps to know that it may all go away then. I went to the doc's on Monday about the spinach thing (you know the alert re the EColi/spinach thing) and also my rash which got worse on the weekend, spreading to my chest (a burning and itching like you wouldn't believe). He said that the runs should dissipate by Wed (and if not to return) but he wasn't worried about it or the spinach thing - but he was concerned about the rash and thinks it might be an allergic reaction to something so he's got me on Reactin for allergies. It is hard to tell if it's working - it seems less itchy now but last night I was scratchy but only for a bit.... hopefully it will all work itself out.
But you're right Don, it's much better without smoking. Before, with my smoking, I'd be coughing like mad right about now and I only had the cough for two days. Awesome!

Thanks Batman. I am always grateful for being freed from cigarettes. It was truly a miracle. Cigarettes were so much a part of me. And now, I can't even stand the smell of second hand smoke.
