Welcome, Marie!! You made a great choice when you decided to quit smoking. I was also a long-time smoker that quit cold turkey on my first try, so I know it can be done. I think the biggest help to me was finding alternate coping skills and observing what non-smokers did. If you go day by day or minute by minute, as long as you are committed to doing whatever it takes, you will be successful.
You can do this!!

Hello Marie, Welcome and good for you on choosing not to smoke and to take back your life. The first week is tough or at least it is for most. Your determination and resolve has to be strong, stronger than the cravings anyways. You will have to fight for your freedom one day at a time. Living life without the habit of lighting up....it is possible as so many have come before you and they had all the doubts and fears you have right now. It can be done. Dig deep, use the patch, drink lots of water, change your morning routine, shower, sleep, move, occupy your time, whatever you have to do.. That is your mission this week. You can do it and we are proud of you for jumping on the life raft. WE can help.
Ask questions, read and post a lot, surf the internet for ideas and support, soon you will see the light. keep the quit Marie
